| | My condolences to those who perished in the recent earthquake in Sumatera. God bless.
Nevertheless, thank God as no tsunami strucked after the quake. Nobody
from other coutries besides Indonesia is directly affected unlike the
December 26 incident where hundreds of thousands actually died and got
injured.
My dad actually told me that at about 12.10 am on March 29, he actually
felt like someone was pushing against the comfy chair that he was lying
on. Immediately, he went to check out on my brother and mum who were
soundly sleeping. He had difficulty moving steadily as the whole
apartment was 'swinging'. Some of the clothes hangers were visibly seen
moving by my dad. He said the tremor this time was much greater than
the previous one. Well, that makes sense. First, the Ritcher scale is
approximately 8.7 this time compared to the previous one at only about
8.0. Second, my dad was not at home during the first incident. In fact,
I was with him. We were having breakfast in a coffeeshop.
It is just hard to believe that two earthquakes strucked within a
period of 3 months. Many scientists believe that the second quake is
not an aftermath of the first one due to the higher scale. Well, who
knows? Whatever, earthquake is a big time disaster especially for
neighbouring countries such Malaysia, Singapore, India, Thailand, Sri
Lanka and others. They were never expected to prepare for this kind of
danger. But now, things are just different.
The world is changing. I think these quakes actually mean something. They are messages that we have to think about...
